Pillows, puppies and snow!

Brice + Cecilia are such a special couple to me. Our initial client meeting was supposed to be over one drink and an appetizer, but it turned into a two and half hour dinner with non-stop talking. To put it lightly, we clicked. For their engagement session we decided to do some pictures in their beautiful home, that they built together. It feels so intimate and real, because it is. Just two people in love, drinking coffee together, and being themselves. Then we headed out into the gorgeous scenery of Central Washington to get some outdoor pictures as well because they also love to hike together! We ended up finishing the night with more conversation over some DELICIOUS tacos! We're supposed to do a second engagement shoot with traditional Rwandan attire this spring. The groom is from there, so their wedding in August will have certain elements from his culture, as well as some Mexican traditions for the bride!

Styled Greenery goodness

The inspiration behind the shoot came from a photo of a redheaded model I saw a couple years ago. She had brilliant red hair and wore a beautiful floral crown. I instantly thought a green inspired, somewhat Irish themed shoot would be great and would produce great images to share throughout March, as green is the unofficial color of the month, is it not?! But wait! THE official 2017 Pantone Color of the Year is actually “Greenery," so it was even more fitting to feature these unique hues, an upscale whiskey bar and such a stunning and historic venue. I think the Northwest often falls into a cliché of "nature loving folk" with photos by rivers and lakes, on top of mountains and in trees; but being based in Spokane, Washington (and previously in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho), I can tell you we are so much more than that!

Winter Wedding Inspiration

This shoot was inspired by the inevitable ability that a blanket of snow has to turn a landscape into a wonderland. Our team picked a private cabin buried in snow in the woods of the Bavarian inspired town of Leavenworth, Washington to set the scene.

Joyous Engagement That Will Make You Smile

Lindee is my best friend, so when she got engaged I obviously made it my goal to give them the greatest engagement shoot of all time. She goes to school in California right now, so she only had a quick break to come back to Idaho to see her family, and get her photos taken! We blocked out a day thinking it would be sunny, turns out its was the windiest day of the whole week. We almost cancelled but we then thought "what the heck" and we decide to make the best of the Beyonce wind. We hiked, we climb, we also froze our limbs, but we somehow got amazing photos. Not because of me, but because of how much those two love each other. I couldn't be happier for my best friend, and I'm so happy she found a man like Kraymer to marry.

Winter Alaska Stylized Shoot

What started as a meet up with two strangers for fun, has quickly turned into friendship and one of the most enjoyable sessions I ever had. Kado and Sierra were planning to elope soon after our session so we took all of our time to soak up the love - vibes and get some amazing shots showcasing their love. Kado and Sierra braved cold weather, freezing waterfall and yet they continued to laugh, be silly and in love.

Mt. Rainier Snowy Bridal Portraits

I have known Russ and Lucia for a few years now, we met through mutual friends. I had the honor of taking their engagement photos as well as wedding photos. Throughout this process, we have become very good friends. They had a December wedding, and we quickly realized we weren't going to be able to get many portraits done. I didn't want to pressure them with squeezing in photos, so we made the decision to take portraits another day. I live in a tiny town at the base of Mt. Rainier, and I have always dreamed of getting a gorgeous couple out here to do bridal photos. I couldn't think of anyone better than Russ and Lucia. We worked together on choosing a day and making sure the weather would cooperate, as well as getting florals and details figured out. I already had all of the locations in mind, and I couldn't wait to get going on this shoot. Seeing as this would be our third shoot together, Russ and Lucia's comfort level was very high. This was such an important factor to getting the right photos. We had the time of our lives exploring Mt. Rainier together, filled with laughter, intimacy, and snow. It has been such a special experience to get to watch their relationship grow just over the past year, one of my favorite things about my job and what I get to do for a living.
